A large part of the Raiders program is their off-ice component whereby they spend much of their time giving back to the community.
This past week, their efforts were on full display.
On Thursday, the Raiders attended Hockey Heroes where players work with the younger children and act as hockey mentors.
Friday, December 9th, the Raiders brought much needed donations including sleeping bags, towels, blankets, lip balm, reading glasses to the Garden City Shopping Centre where QX104 had a drive in support of Siloam Mission.
And at 11:00 AM on Sunday before getting on the ice, the Raiders were back at it packaging and providing lunch to those less fortunate at Immaculate Conception Church Soup Kitchen. The Raiders would like to acknowledge and thank Jason Boyd of Frank’s Pizza and Steven Shuster of Dare Foods for their contributions in making this effort a heart-warming success. Once done, the guys hurried back to the arena to get on the ice for their 2:45 PM game start.
This group of Raiders gives as much as they can, on and off the ice. We may not always get the results we want, but we get an “A’ for effort in all areas. Proud of our team and what they’re able to accomplish!
